The Charges and the Goals:
	¨ Critical thinking skills are on the decline. ¨ Students lack both critical reading and critical writing skills. ¨ The college constituencies (universities, corporations, the community at large) rank critical thinking skills very high on their list of desired characteristics in graduates.
